A/B testing your whitelabel dating landing page
A great landing page can really help a partner succeed with their Private Label dating site. The best way to improve your landing pages is to A/B test them.
A/B Testing is the process of splitting traffic to see two different versions of your landing page. The best way to do this is to change one piece of information on the site to see which version does better. This can be a main image, wording for your submit button, or a headline. Only test one thing at a time so you can actually tell which change improved conversions. One fatal mistake that many testers do is change 4-5 things for each test only to have no idea which change was the determining factor.
There are plenty of ways to A/B test your Private Label dating landing page. Here are a few that we use inhouse that we have found to be exceptionally great tools.
Visual Website Optomizer – An easy to use site that provides A/B testing, heatmaps and other useful tools. All you need to do is copy and paste some code to your landing page and you are ready to go. VWO provides easy to follow reports and comes with a 30 day free trial.
Optimizely – Provides a site editor to load your landing page in to make variations. Also comes with tracking software and reporting to increase your ROI.
Crazyegg – This is not an A/B testing site but I wanted to include it on this list. Crazyegg provides a visual story on what your visitors do on your landing page. It provides click tracks, hotspots, and heatmaps to show what is working and what isn’t. Is everyone clicking on an image for your landing page that isn’t a link? This will help you identify that and push those users in the direction you want them to follow. Are people looking far away from your call to action? This can help you reduce the visual attention in other areas and increase your call to actions exposure.
The most important thing that all of these sites needs is traffic. One other mistake people make is doing an A/B test with very little traffic to test with. Trends are usually found after 1000’s of clicks rather than 20. The more traffic the better your data is.
